“Meta ads for local service businesses that are tired of paying for marketing that doesn’t move the needle. Small daily budgets, turned into qualified leads.”

The story

Nobody handed him a roadmap.

Simon was born in Eritrea and raised across Uganda and Germany before landing in Toronto — jobless, and set on building something that mattered. He found digital marketing online, taught himself from scratch, and decided that was where he was going to make his mark. Starting with nothing was the fuel, not the obstacle.

He earned it by doing rather than theorising. He ran Meta campaigns for laser clinics and dental practices specifically to learn the craft properly — to prove to himself he could deliver real results before asking anyone to trust him with their money. He didn’t wait for permission to get good.

Why Callout

He wanted to build a company he could be proud of — one that helps business owners the way he’d want to be helped in their shoes. When he and Rick connected through the Actualize builders’ community, they realised they were chasing the same thing: a real alternative to agencies that overpromise, underdeliver and treat small business owners as an afterthought. Marcos brought the sales side and completed the picture.

Hot take
Effective marketing doesn’t have to cost a fortune.

Most agencies convince small businesses they need enormous budgets to see results. Eighteen qualified leads in seven days on ten dollars a day says otherwise. The strategy matters more than the spend — and agencies charging a percentage of that spend have every reason not to tell you.

Best campaign
  • A concrete cutting contractor. $10 daily budget, 18 qualified leads in seven days
  • What made it work: we spoke to the homeowner’s problem, not the contractor’s service list
Biggest fail

Early on he took meetings he wasn’t ready for. Enthusiasm without experience — and owners could feel it. Those uncomfortable meetings taught him that credibility comes from results first and confidence second. He stopped pitching and started proving.

Ask Simon about

The questions he actually likes answering.

Q
Google or Meta first?

“Meta, every time, for a local service business. Google captures demand that already exists. Meta creates it. If you don’t have brand awareness yet, Meta builds the pipeline faster and cheaper.”

Q
Worst creative trend in SMB ads?

“Stock photos and generic copy that could apply to any business in any city. No specificity, no personality. Local businesses have real stories — use them.”

Q
Which industry do you understand best?

“Home services. The urgency, the trust issues, the way someone actually decides at nine at night on a Tuesday. That psychology is the whole campaign.”
